Don't mess with them large Sharks!

GWS with the venerable Crittercam. Source.

Oldie but goodie!

Quite obviously, this is a retaliatory strike.
I've seen this kind of behavior in Bulls, Tigers and Silvertips. Obviously those bites happen in reaction to a provocation and are thus situation-specific, and I also believe that there are marked differences at the species level, with e.g. Silvertips being right up there in terms of being feisty (and maybe even vindictive!) and Tigers being rather placid - but then again, check out Scarface going absolutely apeshit on 6:29ff in the Naughty File  after repeated prodding with the poles!
Of note, at that time she was still rather green and thus both more pushy and but very likely also more afraid and thus stressed - which is actually quite typical. From everything I've been able to observe, Sharks that are being fed regularly get habituated to humans and become less and not more aggressive!

But I cannot warn enough against generalizing!
Individual Sharks display very different individual tolerance levels - just like people! E.g. Bulls are generally rather benevolent but our Marlen will try and bite whoever touches her!

But I'm digressing as always.
Enjoy the video!
